Mindaribba Wedding Photographer – Rachel & Michael’s Wedding

It’s so hard to start describing the experience of photographing Rachel & Mike’s wedding. It was beautiful and delicate and rowdy and wild all at once. There were dark corners and there was bright sunshine and everything in between. It was so amazing that by the end I couldn’t remember what had just happened.

I first met Rachel exactly one year earlier when she was a bridesmaid for her beautiful friend Maddie. Memories of that day are a whirlwind as well – what I remember most was the laughter, the spontaneous singing and the big hugs. Rachel wrote me a few months later to enquire about hiring me. This was her message:

Hi Jen, I’m the crying bridesmaid from Maddie and Scottys wedding in March, remember me? 🙂

How could I forget! Rachel is fun and generous, emotional and decisive. She loves, laughs and enjoys with her whole heart and I was pretty excited to get to spend some more time with her. Mike is also a beautiful soul who cherishes the people in his life and values people with great consideration. Plus his hugs!

So very basically that is Rachel and Mike, and I got to spend an entire day with them. Held at the magnificent Mindaribba House it was almost impossible to choose where to photograph as the entire property is chock full of luscious spaces, furniture and knick knacks. Rachel had her bridesmaids, beloved Brother and Mother, and a few other friends in the house with her as she prepared which added to the chatter and joyful anticipation. Mike prepared with his groomsmen, friends and Dad in the nearby cottage and similarly the anticipation was electric.  Finally it was ceremony time and Mike and Rachel were husband and wife at last.

I know the photographs will describe some of these scenes but I can’t stress enough how fabulous this day was. Everyone contributed their bit of excitement and I personally believe that this energy is what separates a good photo from a magical one. In that way I want to thank everyone for their beautiful contribution – I’m really proud of these photos but I couldn’t have done it without your jubilance, your jokes, your participation in the cricket, none of it.

And of course MASSIVE thanks goes to Mike and Rachel for the gift of letting me be part of it x I think you guys are pretty special.
